Mr. Van Cleave holds a B.S. degree in Kinesiology: Preventative and Rehabilitative Exercise Science and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Van Cleave is also an accredited traffic accident reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR).
Mr. Van Cleave’s experience includes over 15 years of performing musculoskeletal biomechanical modeling and analysis ranging from biomechanical modeling for sports medicine and sports performance to injury analysis for forensic biomechanical reconstruction. His primary areas of consulting expertise include injury biomechanics and accident reconstruction. Mr. Van Cleave provides forensic biomechanical analysis on cases involving motor vehicle accidents; slip, trips, and falls; falling objects; and other accidental events. He has performed analysis and reconstruction for low- to high-speed motor vehicle accidents, fatality accidents, pedestrian accidents, head impacts, vehicle rollovers, and other types of accidents. He also performs time distance analyses utilizing projection photogrammetry of video surveillance footage to determine fault in motor vehicle accidents. Mr. Van Cleave also provides expertise in sports-related injury biomechanical analysis, as well as experience in medical device root cause-failure analysis.
