Cole Vigil is a fully accredited Accident Reconstructionist and Forensic Expert for Aperture (formerly American Bio Engineers). Cole is accredited through the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR). Cole specializes in vehicular accidents, vehicular dynamics, speed analysis, time/motion studies, vehicle maintenance, and design strength analysis. Cole applies this expertise when investigating auto, truck, and pedestrian collisions for Aperture.
Cole was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2015, Cole graduated as valedictorian from Northwest Career and Technical Academy, where his studies focused on mechanical technologies. Cole went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude and University Honors Scholar with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2019. Cole gained acceptance into the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi. Cole and two colleagues designed the Aperture crash simulation sled which allows for specialized analysis during simulated low speed motor vehicle accidents. Over the course of his career, Cole has attended several accident reconstruction conferences and completed courses in human factors and heavy vehicle event data recorders. He has also been a lead author on peer-reviewed technical papers published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
Cole is currently a member of the Southwestern Association of Technical Accident Investigators (SATAI), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and is a certified Engineer Intern with the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
