Darren Carrillo started his accident reconstruction career as an intern for Aperture (formerly Scientific Analysis Inc.), finally joining the team as a full Accident Reconstructionist in 2019. He assists his team by investigating, documenting and reconstructing accidents.

Prior to joining Aperture, Darren graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in mathematics from Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech, Darren was involved in multiple clubs and memberships including Formula SAE, and Pi Tau Sigma, a prestigious mechanical engineering honor society.

Darren is an ACTAR certified forensic expert. During his time with Aperture, Darren has participated in several courses to help sharpen his skills, including accident reconstruction courses at Northwestern University, crash data retrieval systems training, Human Vehicle Environment (HVE) training, and was certified as a remote pilot of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) by the FAA. Darren is a proficient operator of FARO and Leica Laser scanners, unmanned aircraft systems, GNSS survey equipment, and other supporting tools in the field of accident reconstruction. He is also well versed in supportive software including but not limited to Engineering Dynamics Corporation’s Human Vehicle Environment (HVE), Autodesk's AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and EOS Systems Inc.’s Photomodeler.
