Justin Brink
Justin Brink is an Accident Reconstruction and Biomechanical Specialist with Aperture. His educational background is multidisciplined and rooted in engineering and kinesiology (the study of human movement). Of note, Justin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiological Science with a minor in chemistry from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2003 in addition to a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering (Biomechanics & Human Factors Option) in 2012. Also, he has completed additional coursework through UNLV as part of the engineering college’s curriculum aimed toward obtaining a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. As part of his graduate level studies, Justin participated in the implementation and completion of a U.S. Army funded project examining the kinetics and kinematics associated with human amputee gait which resulted in peer reviewed publications and conference lecture presentations.
In addition to his formal education, Justin has been a participant and instrumented occupant in several vehicle-to-vehicle collision tests of varying configurations and magnitudes which have also resulted in the production of peer reviewed publications and data acquired for the Southwestern Association of Technical Accident Investigators (SATAI) of which he currently serves as the Vice President. He has regularly completed continuing education in accident reconstruction and automotive occupant biomechanics by attending conferences such as those offered by SATAI and the Stapp Car Crash Conference. Furthermore, Justin has completed specialized training in “Advanced Crash Reconstruction Utilizing Human Factors” through the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety, “Injuries, Anatomy, Biomechanics & Federal Regulation” provided by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and “Crash Data Retrieval Data Analyst” with the Collision Safety Institute. Finally, Justin has been qualified and testified as an accident reconstruction and biomechanical expert witness on numerous occasions.
