Masonry Condition Assessment in Bellaire, Texas

Mr. Garrison was contracted to conduct a comprehensive condition assessment with a primary focus on the exterior walls and concrete sunshades of the Education Building at Crosspoint Church. Built in 1950, the three-story brick-clad structure features varying heights of brick masonry veneer walls, punctuated by horizontal strip windows and cantilevered concrete window sunshades. Structural concrete columns are integrated into the brick on the north and south facades, and aluminum-framed entrances adorn the east and west ends.

His scope encompassed a thorough review of the exterior walls and concrete sunshades, with additional attention given to the walkway canopies for the Education Building and the Sanctuary in the west courtyard. This involved assessing the condition of brick masonry, concrete elements, and the overall structural integrity.

He was able to provide a report that included a succinct summary of our observations, conclusions, and recommended repair options for the exterior cladding elements. Despite the absence of original building drawings, his team delivered a thorough analysis and recommendations for maintenance, repair, or comprehensive replacement to ensure the longevity and safety of Crosspoint Church’s cherished structures.
